Autothrottle refuses to re-engage

Recommended Posts

I have tons and tons of hours in the 744P/C and I don't think I have run into this problem. I have a feeling I did something wrong somewhere along the line and I just don't know what exactly it is that happened. Currently, I am flying from WIII (Jakarta, Indonesia) to KPDX (Portland). I am at FL410 and I was getting an overspeed warning. I looked at the PFD and my a/t is not engaged but the switch is in the "ON" position. I have hit the button and blanked it back out. I have hit the THR and SPD and I still get nothing. I checked the manual and there isn't anything in there, that I saw, about this. Can anybody help? Do I just have a bug or is this because something that I have done?ThanksWilson HinesMy Blog: http://www.wilsonhines.com --------------------------------------http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/747400.jpghttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/pmdg_744F.jpghttp://online.vatsimindicators.net/837438/3074.png

I have had this happen a few times. I am not sure if your scenario/problem is exactly the same as mine but what I do is select Vert speed and this will attempt to reengage the AT in SPD mode. Once the AT has engaged I reselect VNAV.CheersSteve

are you flying in time compression mode? if you do so, you should always pause your flight before changing compression factor. In my case, hitting the VNAV button twice almost always helps. After that, the THR indication is again visible in the upper left corner of the Primary Flight Display.hope that helps,Andreas (EDDH)

>>I;ll bet you were a "hall monitor" in high school.>>How long did it take you to come up with that one?Dang good ain't it? Heard it today on talk radio, almost spit my coffee up! The reference was to the new Ohio state law regarding smoking in open spaces like sidewalks, patios, ball parks, ect. The host said, "Yeah, I bet every stinking former high school hall monitor will be walking around with their armbands on and two-way radios blaring!"Wilson HinesMy Blog: http://www.wilsonhines.com --------------------------------------http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/747400.jpghttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/pmdg_744F.jpghttp://online.vatsimindicators.net/837438/3074.png
