737-800 Double engine failure at cruise

Recommended Posts

I have flown this aircraft many times without a hint of trouble. Tonight I was cruising at FL360 and had been for about an hour when without warning both engines shutdown and I was unable to restart them.I do not have failures activated. The only recent system change is programming Yoke/Throttle Quadrant/Pedals thru FSUIPC and all was working ok with that.It just struck me as odd that the shutdowns would occur over an hour into the flight- fuel was not an issue. I was using wing tanks-all pumps on and quantity was 8000 lbs in each tank--center tank was empty and pumps off.

Did you happen to unknowingly move the fuel cut off lever on you CH Product Yoke?Ken

I thought about that...and no. I actually have the fuel valaves assigned to TQ buttons and I was not touching ANY controls at the time...I was sitting fat, dumb and happy doing a crossword puzzle in my lap--away from the controls when it happened. It was the winding down of the engines that alerted me to the problem.
