NOSE GEAR STEERING ON 747-400

Hi, I know this might be a lame question for some of you but is there a way to operate the nose gear steering seperately from the control surfaces on the 747 ?I could be wrong but it seems a bit unrealistic to me when using the joystick to turn the aircraft on the ground and all the control surfaces move as well as if I were airborne and banking.Cheers: Zsolt

Disengage the auto rudder coordination function and then you can use the rudders separately. Go to the settings page and change it there.

Yes, purchase a current (registered) version of FSUIPC. FSUIPC3 for FS9 or FSUIPC4 for FSX here: http://www.schiratti.com/dowson.html Follow the Simmarket buttons to purchase the proper version. Note, the un-registered version of FSUIPC does not support axis mapping.In the "axis" tab is a non-FS axis called "Tiller steering" This will work the nose gear axis up until a predifined IAS. Then at that speed, the normal rudder axis begins to have more affect and the tiller degrades. The IAS is defineable in the fsuipc.ini file. This is the way I configure all my aircraft except I go a a lot further, I use only FSUIPC axis and turn off "enable joystick" in the FS menu entirely. Works like a champ.Good luck...
