Cannot enter Lat/Long waypoints 747-400

Recommended Posts

I am trying to enter flightplan NAT waypoints. I am looking at the FMC manual p 12-30 for proper format:N51W020 etc. When I enter it I get message, not in database. In fact any I try are not in the database.I am using AIRAC 0609. I must be doing something wrong and would appreciate some help. Thanks,Greg

hi greg,The manual is correct but the format N51W020 is when you want to create or insert a point in the LEG page. When you create a FPL in the RTE page, this point in your database is named 5120n. The good way to see all the good format for that is to use FSnav. You check on the map the point's name where it is and you insert the same name in the RTE page.Hope you understand.Safe flight,C

Thanks folks! After reading the manual vVERY carefully, I now can see the difference between entering a FIX on the RTE page and a waypoint on the LEGS page.It was all there, I just wasn't focusing on the differences in what I was doing.Greg
