Via Chipset upgrade question

Hi allCould someone please help with a little bit of advice?Over at viatech.com there are update files under the headings of BIOS and Drivers and the drivers section has two files under it described as 4 in 1 and Audio.If I were to go for updating my drivers do I need do download all of these? I don't want to go messing with the BIOS if I don't have to as it is working fine for me.Also, audio is fairly self-explanatory but what do the 4 in 1 drivers do?Thanks for any help.David

VIA Tech makes "generic" drivers for ALL of their chipsets. Thier chipsets all use the same technology, just different speeds...etc. So the 4in1 drivers are for everyone. Just download em and install them and you should be fine. The BIOS drivers are for if you have a VIA mobo like the KT333 or whatever. That's to flash the system ROM and it's a pain sometimes. I'd stick with the drivers for now.

If you go to VIA's home page you will notice, but they say "Ain't broke, dont fix it"so if you don't have any problems, dont bother about those updates.

What OS do you have? Are you having problems? These are important questions!I am running win XP Pro and upgraded to the latest VIA 4-in-one's, and WHAT A MISTAKE!My system slowed way down, and my FPS in flight simulator went to 3-5 fps!I rolled back to the default Win XP Via drivers, and my system went right back to its FAST performance and good FPS in FS2K2 pro.My advice is, unless you are trying to solve a specific problem, don't upgrade the 4-in-one's unless you have a specific need to!IF IT AIN'T BROKE, DON'T FIX IT!Happy Simming!Scott :-)
