I'm pretty sure flightaware themselves would have European data if it were available, I know it gets requested all the time in their forums. It's seems the European control centers are more protective of their tracking data than the FAA is in the US according to what I've seen the flightaware staff say...

Based on the horrible user fees I've read about in AOPA, I'm sure they'd only provide it for money.

It is also a matter of security. The reporting of US data is delayed several minutes so it can't be used in real-time.

Maybe Ron, or maybe I'm cynical. The reporting of Europe data would also be delayed, but the real issue here is the socialist order that there be user fees for everything... our FAA is really pushing hard to grind business and general aviation into the ground right now with their bill before congress. This has already happened in Europe, where many privately-owned aircraft have "N-numbers" to avoid the high cost of registration, etc. Poor souls still have to pay for every thing else from weather briefings to instrument approaches.

I don't think for private aircraft the costs would escalate to a damaging amount.http://www.faa.gov/news/fact_sheets/news_s...cfm?newsId=8747The user fees are based on the use of 30 large airports, not TRACONS as I interpret this. The only other fee increase that applies to all is the increase in aviation fuel tax which covers FSS services and generic stuff. While I'm no longer flying GA, I can still appreciate the fear.I did not read the bill but I did not see in this summary any flight plan filing costs or other per flight items regarding enroute that some other foreign jurisdictions charge.Probably a better topic for hangar talk :)http://www.faa.gov/regulations_policies/re...ons_Answers.pdf

Voila! Despite the doubts of some here, it seems I've found it :-) Take a look at this site:http://www.openatc.com/It lets you track pretty much any airline scheduled flight in the world, though some regions are better covered than others. Better yet, it will plot the flight in 3D on Google Earth. The interface is a little cumbersome at first, but it does work. Andrew
