"SHIFT" crashes fs2002

Recommended Posts

Guest

Hi,I encountered a weird problem last night that I have never seen before. FS2002 has been working fine, but now for some reason, hitting the SHIFT key shuts fs2002 down. It shuts down almost instantly, much faster than by hitting exit. Except for this FS runs normally.Any thoughts?David Rawlins

Move your fs2002.cfg file to a safe place on your harddrive. Restart fs2002, let it stablize, check the keyboard and joystick assignment and make adjustments. Press shift and see if you still have the same problem. If so, did you download and install any new aircraft, gauges, etc since the problem started? If not, make all the fine tune adjustments to the fs2002.cfg and delete the original you saved prior.

You could check your key assignments to make sure that hasn't been reassigned to "Exit Flight Simulator immediatly". Also, check if you have a file called fs2002dw.cfg in your FS2002 main directory. If so then move fs2002.cfg to a safe place and rename fs2002dw.cfg to fs2002.cfg.David

Patrol,I don't recommend renaming fs2002dw.cfg back to fs2002.cfg since this file is made when FS2002 detects a fault and then want to know if you want to send a report to Microsoft. FS2002 generates a known default fs2002.cfg if it can't find one in the fs2002 folder.

Actually, if you are running XP, if you hold down shift for more than 5 seconds it will launch a quick keys program.Crashes my Fs2002 if I do it too. So I don't press it for too long, at least while I figure out how to uninstall the program that launches.http://www.forefrontgrp.com/jayssig.jpg"There is an art . . . to flying.
