Need help programing in FMC

Recommended Posts

Guest mukesh

I just download the PMDG 747-400 Queen of the Skies. And also I update the SID / STAR data from http://www.navdata.at/php/sidstar/dl_list.php?addon=PMDG and http://www.planepath.com/ Im trying to do a flightplan from KSEA to KSFO. But Give me a err 16c rwy unknown error. PMDG actually included above route in flightplans folder. However when I do so it ALWAYS GIVES ME A ERROR. Either not in database error, or runway error, or always some other kind of error that should NOT be happenning. Why does this error happen and how to resolve it? Does anyone have a flightplan from KSEA to KSFO in PMDG's .rte format specifically for the 747.Thanks,Mukesh

You also need to download current AIRAC data. The FMC uses two sources of data: SIDSTARS contain terminal procedures and the AIRAC has all the enroute stuff (fixes, navaids and routes) as well as airport data (location, runways and ILS info). It is the airport data in the AIRAC that is tripping you up. KSEA change runway numbering about 6 mos ago.The AIRAC is not free but it is cheap at http://navigraph.com (click the FMS data tab).See also article in this area at http://ops.precisionmanuals.com/wiki/SIDSTARSYou can find the current routes being used at http://flightaware.com (click the resources tab then select the link to IFR routes). They are using ELMAA7 ELMAA RBG GOLDN4 as an example.Hope this helps.

Mukesh-If you look at Dan's post you will see that he suggested-ELMAA7 ELMAA RBG GOLDN4 . In that FP ELMAA7 is a SID and GOLDN4 is a STAR.Get the Navigraph FMSDATA and installget the PlanePath AYRAC 707 SIDSTAR package for PMDGGet Dan Down's AIRAC 707 procedures from AvSim (yes- the SAME Dan :))Get Steve B's procedures for the UK and Kai Tak from this forumThen just program the FMS (only adding ELMAA and RBG manually)Then use the DEP ARR key to add the ELMAA7 departure, and delete the discontinuity and execute. You can wait until the late cruise segment to add the GOLDN4 arrival.Keep in mind BOTH the SID and STAR are runway (and wind direction) dependent so also download the plates for KSEA and KSFO in case you need other SID STARs- free from the FAA or better yet go ahead and get the Navigraph nDAC for worldwide plates.Good Luck- eventually you might want to get Ernie's FSBuild or something similar, which will allow for flight planning and EXPORT of PMDG FMS COMPANY ROUTES........welcome to the sickness ;)Best-Carl F.
