FSX & FS9 data files placement

Recommended Posts

Could someone please list where the data files are held. I am interested in:- where route files are stored and the difference between using .RTE and the .XML versions - where flight status and panel status files are filed and the difference in their functions. Am I correct to say that in mid-flight I can save both sorts and then return to my flight at a later time successfully?Cheers, Richard

Your flight plan files are stored in C:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesMicrosoft Flight SImulator XPMDGFlightplans and I believe that the Flight status saves are in your document folder in the Flight SImulator X Files where FSX saves its own routes and yes you can save your panel state and return to it. There is some minor data loss like losing FIXes but that is minor.
