How can I add the GPS Unit into PMDG 747-400X

How can I add the GPS Unit to PMDG 747-400X?I tried to edit the panel.cfg file but it did nothing....Anyone can help?Thanks.

I advise you not to, besides why would you want to modify this great plane. I take it you don't know how to use the FMC.Michael

Adding the GPS is the easiest thing in the world. Just look at the default 737-800 Panel.cfg and locate the present GPS window. Carefully replace the chronometer window with this one and amend the number to suit. The GPS will work, the Direct to will work but you cannot and should not use it to plan routes. As a visual aid to seeing where in the world you are, it works. I don`t use it personally but someone else asked for it so, I told them how.If all you want is a visual aid then there is a better option.... look for talal in Avsim file section and get version 3. It has a lot of facilities built in and can be used full screen if you have a 2nd monitor.Reider
