Latitude / Longitude Waypoints (747-400X)

Recommended Posts

Guest Gregory J. Fantino

I am trying to program the FMC for a transatlantic flight from EHAM to CYYZ and have assigned 2 waypoints for the oceanic crossing. Unfortunatley, the FMC will not accept the long format or the short form entry in accordance with the instructions detailed in the PMDG 747-400 Aircraft Operating Manual (Ref: Section 12, pages 29-30). The FMC generates the error message: Not in Database. I understand this problem was identified when PMDG first released the FS9 version of the Queen several years ago. Please advise.Greg.

I've used the shortform latlon for several NATS trips. The shortform (5230N = N52 W30) is actually a very long list of fixes in the NavData wpNavFIX.txt file. If you have NavData these should work... you can open this file with any text editor and find the entries. They are input on the right side of the RTE page.
