Hi allI am considering purchasing FRAPS so that I can upload videos of segments of my FS flights to youtube for my and your viewing pleasure. Could anyone who has this program please offer comments, advice, recommendations or criticism to help me in deciding whether this is worth investing in?Thanks,

Hi Matt,I use it, and like it a lot. It allows for recording of audio video, and also has a nifty benchmarking utility that allows you to track performance of a given program over a fixed period of time (so you can track average fps over 5 minutes, for example)You also get regular updates, which is nice.The one thing you need to know though is that the videos that it records are BIG (file size), and also fairly big in terms of pixel size. Fraps won't allow anything to be recordeded smaller than half your screen resolution. Hi VinThanks for the advice. How do you find FRAPS for taking screenshots? Is it as simple as hitting a key (eg Print Screen) and the screenshot being automatically saved?Thanks in advance for your advice.

Yeah, you just assign the key of your choice, a destination folder, and a choice of format (BMP, JPG, PNG, TGA) and it will save each shot with a name that includes the program/game, date and time: example: fsx 2008-01-16 17-45-58-82.bmpYou can also tell it to repeat a screen capture every X seconds until you hit the key again.Heck.. pictures speak louder than words. If you want a commission, join the Armed Forces, lol. One last question - to use FRAPS only for screenshots, is there any difference between the freeware and payware version if using it solely for this purpose?

Hmmm, okay. Thanks for the info Vin. By the sounds of it, you seem to recommend it, so I'll go download it for free, try it and if it looks good, I might buy it.
