A few questions if anybody can answer:- On VNAV page ACT ECON CRUZ, what is the meaning/purpose of the LRC> in position 6R ?- On same page as above, according to the manual LSK 3R is supposed to show ETA/fuel load at the next waypoint but it instead displays this information for the final destination. Is this how it works always or is there an option somehow ?- What is the value of entering a planned step climb (FLxxxS) ? Pilot intervention is required (will not change altitudes unless an ALT select or FLCH is done) and it is quite obvious from the display on WHEN a step climb is supposed to be done....so what value does entering the planned or future FL give us ?Thanks,Zach

Zach:LRC is Long Range Cruise, minimum fuel consumption for max rangeLook on PROG (Progress) page for ETA/Fuel at next waypoint. This is the screen I keep active if I'm not doing anything else.First enter a step climb increment, default is ICAO but I use 2000. The FMC then forecasts when the economics are in favor of climbing to reduce fuel consumption. It's not an issue of automation vs manual but simply a tool that does the calculation for us. The computer compares the cost of climbing vs the increase efficiency for us.
