Kai Tak ILS - wanted

Recommended Posts

Guest

HI ! As FS02 was shipped without the old Kaitak Airport, I wondered where to get a decent FREEWARE scenery that includes the missing navigation aids, the ILS sender for RWY 13. For me these navaids are more important than a photoreal airport, so does anybody know which scenery does include them , or is there a general fix to build in ILS/VORs to FS2002 ?Thank you.J

You can always look at :www.dangerous-airports.comNot sure if they have the missing NAVAIDS though - although I seem to remember that they suggest a couple of scenery files.Regards,

Kai-tak is dead, so why are there people still wanting the scenery?? Just wondering.

Surely the beauty of FS is being able to fly what you want, when you want. Hence Tom Gibson's great works with "Classic Airliners", Bill Lyon's work, the Wright Flyer, etc. etc. Kai Tak was one of the most fascinating and challenging airports in the world, and its environment in FS is quite stunning.Well, that's my view, anyway. I like steam trains, too, mind you!Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumonthttp://www.swiremariners.com/cxkaitak.htmlhttp://www.swiremariners.com/cxkaitakv3.jpg

To elaborate on Mark's comments, when you landed at Kai Tak you basically flew into the side of a mountain until, at the last moment, you made a 40-something degree right turn and immediately touched down on the runway! Not for the faint of heart...Hope this helps,-- Tom GibsonCalifornia Classic Propliners: http://www.calclassic.com/Cal Classic Alco Page: http://www.calclassic.com/alco/Freeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.com/ San Diego Model RR Museum: http://www.sdmodelrailroadm.com/Drop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___
