>just wondering, whats that alarm just before the fire warning>test and after the test when the maintenance crew clicked that>panel on the upper left? That's the alert sound for a level 3 alert. Douglas has a four step alert category system for the MD-11, ranging from level 0 to level 3 alert, level 3 being the most serious. So in addition to the master warning light the level 3 alerts have that distinct alert sound, except a few that have their own alert sound, like engine fire. That panel on the upper left is the cargo fire panel and as you can imagine cargo fire, or fire in general is the most serious thing you could haven on board, hence the highest alert level category for those.Regards,Markus
