I have a couple of questions which i hope you don't mind asking?1) Is there a device i can use to assume the takeoff temperature on the takeoff ref page?2) Whats the difference between pack 2+3 off and 1+3 off, on start up?3) When i land the brake temperature increases, but what does 3 mean, 300 degrees?Thank you James

1) TOPCAT is an excellent tool...I use it for EVERY TO/LDG in the 744.2) - Q your input is needed here I think??3) Brake TemperatureIndicates a relative value of wheel brake temperature:

2) Whats the difference between pack 2+3 off and 1+3 off, on start up?This all depends on the company you fly with and there SOP. You would also use 1+3 off on a pack to APU departure. Maybe it has something to do with a possible ISLN valve fault.Rob

Just got home and ran a test. with APU running PACKS 2+3 off. If you lost the Left ISLN valve for whatever reason you would also lose pack 1.If you use PACKS 1+3 off you can lose both ISLN Valves and still have the Apu supplying PACK 2Rob
