Recommended Posts

HiI installed update 1.2 and now I have a question about FMS/MCDU.Is it normal that after I press EXEC on MCDU, screen goes black (screen of MCDU) and after few seconds return to normal condition?.I see route (magenta) on ND, so command is executed.ThanksEdin

Yes. It's always done that to my knowledge.Don't worry, the real thing does that too. I'm guessing it has something to do with processing power, or lack thereof.

Thanks Mike.I'm engineer on Airbus and ATR42 a/c, and this is not a case on real Airbus MCDU so I was a little surprised :-)How ever, thanks on your quick replyEdin

Yeah the CPU used in the older Boeing FMCs are slooooow. We're simulating the processing delay caused by that.

...and sometimes it's so slow, you get a warning message in the scratchpad telling you it's still computing :("STANDBY ONE" tells you that the FMC requires more than 4 seconds to display the data.Cheers.Q> イアン

I've always wondered why ATC says "STANDBY ONE" when they really mean "wait until I'm ready to deal with you," which might be in two or three whatevers?
