Red Arrows Help Please

Recommended Posts

I installed the Red Arrows planes (the complete package). It is a beauty. My only problem is that the landing gears don't display in the nine plane formation. They do in the 4 plane configuration and the single version. Has anyone else had this problem? If not what am I doing wrong? Thanks, regards to all. Bob.

Did you think of asking me? Thanks for your kind words, in any case.Since you've posted, I'll respond. You'll find all this explained in the README (or even in the description on Avsim) if you read it. The nine formation is pushing the limit of what can be achieved in FS. Thus to achieve nine aircraft in a single "model" much of the animation that is present in the four or single has had to be sacrificed. So, no gear, and no pilot, no moving surfaces. The textures are the same. You can take off and land, though. So take off in the cockpit (good idea), raise gear, fly aircraft, pose, and then return to cockpit for landing (even better idea) in normal fashion. Gear functions internally, you just can't see it.Hope this helps. Folks, I spent time on the README for your assistance, so do please read it.Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumonthttp://www.swiremariners.com/cxkaitak.htmlhttp://www.swiremariners.com/cxkaitakv3.jpg

Hi Mark. Thanks. You are right I did not completely read the readme. I'll do that. Sorry for the question it was due to my stupidity. I love the planes. the cockpit is stunning to say the least! Please forgive me. The formation flying is superb. Best regards, Bob.

BobHey, that's OK, we're all boys together here. When I was growing up my motto was "when all else fails, read the instructions". It's much more fun to take life by trial and error. Thanks for your private email too. Talking of error, you mention a message that comes up when you load the single saying "can't find in the library" or whatever - if anyone else has this, just close that box and the 'plane will load as usual. I shall determine what is causing that and post a wee fix (with one or two other tiny corrections) in due course. No hurry, though ... they all work so let's go flying!http://www.swiremariners.com/reds.jpgMark "Dark Moment" Beaumonthttp://www.swiremariners.com/cxkaitak.htmlhttp://www.swiremariners.com/cxkaitakv3.jpg

Let's see those screenshots in the forum then, Bob! I've been down to Devon in England myself this afternoon doing the Dartmouth display ... can't get enough of them myself, and that wonderful rear view!http://www.swiremariners.com/reds2.jpgMark "Dark Moment" BeaumontP.S. Since I wrote this I've flung Mikko's single up a few thousand feet. I think I've sorted the identity crisis .... illegal characters in the 'title' in the airfile. Must be my fault ... I know a lot of illegal characters. When I'm sure I've sorted it, I'll post the fix.http://www.swiremariners.com/cxkaitak.htmlhttp://www.swiremariners.com/cxkaitakv3.jpg

Hi Mark. Just posted a screenshot of all nine planes at low level over the Las Vegas Strip. Hope the FAA didn't mind!
