PMDG 737 vs LDS VC framerates

Featured Replies

I am thinking about purchasing the PMDG 737 but would like toget an idea what the VC framerates are like since that's the only way I would fly. My frames are pretty good with LDS and hope they are similar with the 737....comments/advice welcome.Cheers,Greg

Greg. Say type of machine you're running FS9 on?I run the NG in FS9 with Ultimate Terrain, FS Genesis mesh, Ultimate Traffic, FS9 settings pretty much maxed out and FPS set to 36 on the rig as noted in my signature. At a FPS hog airport like SimFlyers CYYZ or KORD FS9 does not buckle from the 36 FPS.hope it helps,

GuysMats - how lucky you are! I have a Dell 5150 Pent 4 with an nvidia9600GT and the PMDG737 displays micro stutters at airports with FPS as low as 4 or 5.The LevelD is much smoother with much better framerates. Unfortunately I have built a cockpit around the 737 (and not for the 767) so I have to lower all settings and have my (WOAI) traffic set at 10% to even get a jerky landing. It looks like a comp upgrade is the only answer for me. The PMDG and LevelD are both great planes.Bill
