Fly over waypoints?

Hi,I've always wondered if there's any way to specify certain waypoints in the FMC as FLYOVER rather than bypass, ie. not to start a turn until AFTER the aircraft has passed the waypoint?Many Thanks....Adam

I don't know if there is a way to do it from the CDU, but you can certainly do it when programming a procedure for the PMDG FMC.

If this isnt done there then 2 things will happen:the point will be treated as flybyyou wont be able to change the waypoint characteristic through the CDU.The Airbus allows a flyover function insert, but the Smiths does not.to programme a flyover look in the text file for the aerodrome and insert text to make it look like the extract below. You will find the text file in the folder under FS9/PMDG/SIDSTAR. The wording is important: <> if stated slightly different "direct ABC then ..." doesn't require a flyover; however, "maintain hdg 010 until ABC 2.6 DME" does and the procedure file would nail it. Also, some RNAV procedures have flyover waypoints and these are covered in the written procedures (or should be).When ATC clears you direct to a navaid followed by a course or vector they really don't expect you to fly past the navaid. In this case the flyby is assumed.

There's always the old fashioned way of flying manually with the MCP if you're doing a procedure that requires you to not turn until after the waypoint too...
