Stabilizer Motion Warning - How is it in Real Life

Hi, when you look at this recently posted MD-10 Video, the Stab Motion Warning sounds twice. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0EQ9-m-nuPIAt the PMDG it sounds only when you stay on the trim knobs for a long time, shouldn it sound more often? I had an issue with that guy who posted that video. Apparently he didnt like the fact that i mentioned in a comment that it was an MD10. Anyhow, the aural warnings on an MD-10 come from a VIA (versatile integrated avionics) unit that combines FMS, CAWS and the EIS. Perhaps this is the reasoning for the difference. Also, keep in mind that the MD/DC-10 stab doesnt move as quickly as the MD-11, so you dont get to the requires setting as fast.

The stabilizer montion warning should not sound more often that it does as implemented. Don't know about the MD-10, but for the MD-11 it will sound when you get a continuous 2 degrees stab trim increase. As explained in another post I made, this depends on the stab trib change rate when you press the yoke switch, or the rate the AP trims the aircraft which in turn depends on other paramaters (altitude and speed). You will rarely (if ever) hear this warning with the AP engaged. With manual trimming it will require to keep the switch down for 4-12 seconds depending on the confditions I mentioned. The sound before the aural moring is just a part of the warning sound, nothing to do with actual trim movement. Now, if the warning should play twice each time it is triggered, instead of once as we have modeled it, let me check it. If this is the case it will be fixed in the next update.Finally, about this "old beta" by Bill, this is work done long before Bill and I joined PMDG and I don't how it ended up in you-tube (seems that some of the guys we had back then in our mailing list was not that trustfull). But obviously many things have been corrected/added since then to make this simulator absolutely realistic. Seems so funny to quote something we did wrong some years ago to prove your point :-)

Jan-Paul, Yes this DVD is great. I have bought it twice, once when it was only available in VHS format and then again when it was released as a DVD. But, I'll better check the CAWS documentation for this.
