Ugh, wish they hadn't used the NG to test, that's old FMS code by the standards of the 400 and now the MD-11. PROF mode was written from scratch for the MD-11 and the pilots on the test team said it's very close to the real thing as far as performance.

I must say the 744 seems to be more "trustworthy" on VNAV descents than the NG. And 1000x moreso than the LD763. I don't trust that thing whatsoever to make a decent descent (haha).

Yes a shame that the VNAV in the 737 could not have been tidied up with a service pack. A fun machine all the same.
