Difference between MD-11 in FSX and FS9

Recommended Posts

Guest Jake Lee

Good day all. First let me say that I am not asking for a release date nor am I asking for an update on the MD-11 for FS9. ;) What I am asking is the differences between the two. Will there be different performance models for each engine type in the FS9 version? Please describe any differences between the two. Thanks in advance!- Jake

Hi Jake,I'm no Member of PMDG but i think the Differences between FSX Version and FS9 Version are only different MDL Versionsand other Gauge Version between there were different FlightSims with different File Profiles. I think the Flight Dynamics and Options are the Same only the Files must be correct that FS9 can work with it.Greets from GermanyAndy

Most of the differences are due to limitations of the FS9 simulator compared to FSX, and most of the differences are visual. For example, FS9 does not support normal maps (bump maps). Things like panel lighting will be limited (although we are working on a good compromise for you). FS9 also does not support self illuminating textures during daylight hours. FS9 does not support advanced animations, so wingflex will look more like the FS9 PMDG 747-400 (segmented wings). The differences are minor. Overall, your flying experience will be nearly identical to those users flying in FSX.Best,http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/for...er_MD11_Vin.jpg

I'm not too worried about the visual differences. Segmented wing flex is fine with me. I just don't want a major difference in aircraft performance or calculations or anything relevant to the flying.- jake

Just came up with another question regarding the manuals. If I order the printed manuals will they still apply to the FS9 version? - Jake

Unoffically, I would expect 98% of the information to be the same between platform variants. I have not yet seen how they implement the MS Functions and fuel loading yet, which could be the same in FS9 as FSX or not. But other than this platform-specific difference the airplane will be the same.

Just a quick question, it may sound stupid. I purchased the FSX the second it came out. I didn't choose the FS9 and FSX bundle. Will I still get the discount when i purchase the FS9 ?ThanksRichie
