PMDG 747 FSX Flap Settings

Recommended Posts

Hi allWhen setting the flap settings the carriers on both wings extend into position and act appropriately when raising/lowering flaps but the slats do not move into any position from the original UP position. This applies to both the 400X & 400F and to all liveries also to all flap degree settingsDoes anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening?Peter

No bleed air pressure? The LE flaps are pneumatic. Check the bleeds are open and there is duct pressure indicated on EICAS.Kevin

Bleed air is not necessary for the LE. It should automatically switch to primary electric mode. However I've never seen the FLAPS PRIMARY EICAS CAUTION MESSAGE. Also the MAIN EICAS should change to EXPANDED FLAPS DISPLAY MODE which I've never managed to trigger in FS9 744.Sometimes I also get really strange flap sequencing , uncommanded runaway flaps...etc. I don't know how it's done in the 744X flap logic, but the FS9 744 needs at least on engine running. Reason: unknown.I would also try alternate flaps with at least one engine running. Let's hope you only deal with some minor animation problems, so keep on eye on your flap position indicator instead.I hope you'll get your things sorted.EDIT: PS: be careful, 744's have no SLATS.Happy extractions and retractions, delcom

Peter,Re advanced animations start FSX then go to Settings and at the bottom of that Settings page go to Customise. You'll then be taken to a Settings - Displaty page and you'll see a tick box "advanced animations" in the Global Options section.Tick that box then Ok.You'll find that should fix the problem.Peter (from NZ).
