MD-11 Landing Lights...I Wasn't Going to Say Anything.....

Recommended Posts

...but I saw another 'landing light' post, and figured what the heck.I imagine I'm the only one with this issue, but perhaps someone from PMDG could suggest something. First of all, I'm using WidevieW with multiple CPU's and monitors. So FSX necessarily behaves differently in some respects. The issue - the landing lights don't come on when I select the "LDG LT" or "NOSE LT" switches on the server CPU (which only displays the instrument panels) - I have to turn on the "EMER LT" switch to see the landing lights shining on the scenery on the client CPU/monitors. The cockpit emergency lights come on as well. Hehe, it's become a dual purpose switch. It's odd because this is the only addon that acts this way, leading me to believe that something behind the MD-11 is different. (I have the PMDG 747X, for example, the landing light switch turn on ...the landing lights.) I asked Luciano on the WidevieW forum but he didn't know why this would behave this way.Now mind you I"m not losing any sleep over this, but hey, perhaps someone has an idea as to why this might be, and a possible solution. ***Like some file where I can 'remap' the behavior of these switches. (??)Thanks for any advice.Noel W in Brisbane

Open the Add-ons options from the FSX menu bar, select PMDG/General/Keyboard Commamds. There are options there for selecting lights, that might help.JayXPPro SP2FSX SP2AMD64 FX-60 Dual Core 2.61 GHz8800GTS-640 megs2 Gigs Kingston RAMFEX-GEX-UTUSA-FSGenesis-and a bunch of other stuffComputer optimized by www.fs-gs.com

JayThanks for that suggestion.I'm currently using the switches on the overhead panel. Somehow the landing light activation is crosslinked to the emergency light switch. As I mentioned previously, it would be great if there was a way to remap the landing light function.Maybe someone from PMDG will have some insight.Noel W
