I'm not an FS9 user anymore, but great to hear that those who still are will soon get to fly this plane too. Also good for us FSX users to know theres an update coming to an already very perfect simulation. How are things going with the NGX product by the way? Now that one of the programmers has left PMDG, I hope this product is still going strong in development? Can't wait for it, even though MD-11 is keeping me busy right now, and NGX is probably still a few years away (my guess). :)

I am glad to hear this. I have the FSX version and a good computer but I find the performance to be a little hard on frames. Looking forward to the FS9 version and fly like I do with the 747.Thanks for continuing to support FS9

Great to hear some news ! (especially when they are good !)Just a little question : Do you think you will release an update some day to your 747 using the same programming techniques that you used on the MD11 ?To be clearer, I stayed on FS9 because your 747 was almost impossible to fly on my PC under FSX and it is not a very old PC (Q6600,4Gb,GeForce8800 GTX 768Mb,2 320Gb RAID0). (Another great thing on FS9 being AES...)So it was a real surprise to see that the MD11 worked perfectly on FSX (not as well as the 747 in FS9, but really well anyway). So to be clear, I'm not ready to abandon my 747, and I can't run it under FSX... So for the moment I keep both versions! (even if I would prefer to use just one...)Best RegardsCharles MOULINCDG ATC

Thanks for the update, very aprreciated.I currently "train" on the FSX MD-11 but I really look forward to the FS9 version. On my modest computer I have to move many sliders down to make FSX work. With everything down FSX looks bad but the MD-11 is a masterpiece.I have no intention to upgrade yet because from a user point of view I am happy with FS9, PMDG 747, Aerosoft and FlyTampa scenery and the great AES utility. My FS9 looks better that FSX. I really appreciate the decision at PMDG to support FS9 for the MD-11 even though it's probably challenging and frustrating at times.I know this question was asked before but since the MD11 was initially started as a FS9 project I wonder if the work that was done then helps in the conversion or if you started the FSX version from scratch and trying to convert many of the breakthrough back to FS9. I don't mean to be a jerk, I'm just curious because I know very little about plane development So I probably don't realize all the work involved. Thanks,Danny

Nice to know you haven't forgotten the FS9 crowd :-)

I agree with Danny, the MD-11 works well enough to be happy with "living with" low to medium FSX sliders while waiting for the FS9 version. Now...if I can figure out the msvcr80.dll CTDs I get with FSX around every other flight I fly, I'll be perfectly happy until December haha. Thanks for the update, Captain. This truly is a wonderful product that was worth the wait.

>It saddens me to see high-qulaity talent and development>resources wasted on yesterday's news.>I may have misunderstood your comment, so please accept my apologies if I have, but if you're referring to PMDG working hard to make an FS9 version of their MD-11, don't you think that they might be doing so because they believe it's worth their while doing so? All FS9 users who want this aircraft (and that includes me) will be paying for it after all. So whilst that may make you sad, it will make me very happy - and I'm sure PMDG won't be too disappointed to receive my money. As a fellow simmer wouldn't that make you happy too?

>It saddens me to see high-qulaity talent and development>resources wasted on yesterday's news.>>But thanx for the update. We do not in any way consider this product to be something we shouldn't have made because of the age of the airplane - it was way ahead of its time and in many respects still is in fact. No one else was going to represent this airplane in MSFS with this level of detail and we're extremely proud of what we managed to accomplish with it. If you don't like that, I suggest you find somewhere else to complain, as I'm not going to tolerate such punditry here.

Huh, Ouch, i was already praying to have the FS9 before the middle of November. But again its nice to have a product that's all in perfect and working condition. I'm just a very UN patient person.James

Try IFDG MD11 with the ACS MD11 panel by Alain Capt. It is that good. May serve as a fix until the release of PMDG MD11. Carl P
