FMC, ZFW problems.

Recommended Posts

I am currently not able to add any number to my ZFW field in the FMC. I can't figure it out because it worked great until I upgraded my computer. It is driving me crazy. Any ideas would be very helpfull.

Yes, thank you. Boy do I feel small. Thanks for the enlightenment, if that is how you spell it.

What is this kg vs. lbs issue? I've just purchased the 767PIC from the AVSIM store, and I'm working my way through the startup procedure - and got stuck at the ZFW input.Do I need to convert the ZFW from the Aircraft.cfg from lbs to kgs? Also, I'm using PICPOSKY3.

You have to enter the ZFW in correct units, yes. The standard ZFW of 245,000 pounds is roughly equal to 111,100 kilogrammes. However, when editing the ZFW in the Aircraft.cfg you always have to use Lbs. So if you use the European system within FS you will have to do some converting.Regards,Karl

This question of "I get an error while entering my ZFW on the FMC" is a very common one. I seem to remember that there was some incorrect data about what numbers should be entered according to the manual. Is this the case? I seem to remember being stuck on the ZFW issue when I first started as well - but since then my brain has been fried by the 500,000 other issues and concepts I needed help overcoming/grasping.Have I mentioned lately how much I love this forum?Ian Elchitz

I am having almost the same problems but when I enter the ZFW and than go into takeoff page and enter all the information I still don't get my v1 vr or v2 speeds but the fmc says complete and when you click the airspeed lower left of the gauge all the speed bugs move to the vspeeds. Jeff

You have to select a departure runwau before the V-speeds will show up.
