Standar Style EADI or Pegasus Style EADI?Flight Director: one Cue or Two Cues Which one do you use? Why?Which one is the most common in commercial airlines?Thanks in Advance,Bruno Francescoli.

Assuming no-one from the airline will tell you, your best bet seems to be www.airliners.net Find some cockpit shots of the carrier you're interested in and see what they use. That said, the pegasus system gives you more information on one display and almost compensates for the lack of a co-pilot!Geoff

I use the same config as Condor, which includes the Pegasus EADI and a two cue flight director.Only flaw of this setup is that the flight director cheats!If I handfly the aircraft, the F/D (in VNAV) will command a steep climb although speed is below 250 kts (= commanded airspeed) If I'd follow the F/D, I'd stall the plane. However, as soon as I activate the A/P, the pitch bar returns to the center :-)Tricky, ain't she ;-)I wonder if the one cue F/D has the same problem.I guess it's time for another PIC flight...

I fly as American Airline with standard and 2 cues FD. I assume this is the setup real AA 763s has, but I don't really know.

A lot of airlines appear to be switching to the EADI with the airspeed tape. I'd imagine that most will eventually switch to this style because of the added redundancy. It's relatively easy to incorporate... and probably not a lot of expense is involved. As for the FD cue, it's probably "business as usual" (no changes from what was there previously).Cheers.Ian.

I find 2-cue FD a much better logical choice.It does happen sometimes that one of your FD-axis (say vertical) is not yet "live" and gives you a bogus information. With a single cue FD you have to "mentally" remove this data otherwise you end up with confusing picture. With a 2-cue FD it is much easier to seperate both inputs.Michael J.
