September 24, 200223 yr Hello all.If you don't yet know, there is a VATSIM-organized event this Saturday, September 28th, called Wicked Wichita. It will sport some of the worst IMC weather you have ever experienced, and should be an excellent challenge of your skills. There is little information at http://www.vatsim.net as of now, but basically all you need to know is that KICT, KIAB, KBEC and satellite airports will all be staffed between 1900-2300 Eastern Time (translates to 2300-0300 Zulu, or UTC).I know some of you like to fly from your home base to wherever the event of the weekend is, so it would be fun to plan a little trip so that we can "pick up" everybody on the way. For example, Ian Elchitz flies out of KSFO. I will be in Phoenix, most likely, so he could stop there, and we could fly together to Wichita, or stop somewhere else to pick some other people up.Oh well, it is just an idea, but I wanted to share it and see if anybody is up for it. By the way, visibility will be close to nothing, so you better clean out the cobwebs of your CATIII approach handbook, read it over, and have plenty of extra fuel.
September 25, 200223 yr Ya baby, bring on the IMC. Good that you posted this Fabio as if does not have the usual advertising associated with some of the VATSIM events. To get to Wichita, I will be comming in from somewhere on the West Coast after a night of "Friday Night Western Regionals." Post you routing and departure times.
September 25, 200223 yr Boys,Saturday nights are usually tough for me, but I will attempt to join you for Wichita as well. Will be going through the CATIII Checklists myself a few times, as I know I messed them up the other evening flying into KLAX.Ian.
