ADF "half" frequencies (e.g. 343.5). How?

Recommended Posts

In FS2000, I'm sure that when one called up the Navigation option on the menu bar, one could set the sim to enable half frequencies on the ADF amongst other things. When I try to do the same in FS2002, all I get is an EFIS box. Something missing in my sim, or is this right? How do I set my radio stack to be able to home in on "half" frequencies with the ADF?Usual pearls of wisdom gratefully excepted, amigos. This forum hasn't let me down yet!Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumonthttp://www.swiremariners.com/cxkaitak.htmlhttp://www.swiremariners.com/cxkaitakv3.jpg

I think you have to set it in one of the options menus, possibly the realism settings, but I can't fully remember.

Hm, I didn't have to set anything to be able to use half frequencies on the ADF radio. Just clicking on the decimal number in the ADF and it goes a .5 up or down (depending on the mouse pointer postion). Are you perhaps using a third party ADF? Some of them don't have the half frequencies. I think they are only made for use outside Europe. :-lol http://httpd.chello.nl/~j-kusters/logo.gif [link:Ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/Tradewind/"]Visit TCA TradeWind ]Jozef[/font

Not all the ADF gauges provide for the change in decimal frequency, especially the ones brought over from earlier sims, like the Lear45.

I learn something new every day. What a hobby.Josef, that's the right approach, thanks. WS, you're right, too. I've run my tests ... all FS2002 aircrafts' ADF have changeable "half" frequencies but ye olde FS2000 gauges ... Concorde, Lear, etc. don't. That explains a lot. Hey, Microsoft, bit shabby, chaps ... you might have tidied your old gauges up for the new sim. Pass them off as new, would you?So I'm wiser, but still not happy, of course, as places like Cornwall seem to have far too many of them funny numbers. Ah well, back to navigating by the stars ...Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumonthttp://www.swiremariners.com/cxkaitak.htmlhttp://www.swiremariners.com/cxkaitakv3.jpg

Mark -If you use FsNavigator, you can set ADF frequencies in there, and even if they don't show up on the panel ADF readout, they're still there and useable.Schofi

Yes, thanks. Good point. As I've put in another, subsequent post, I have enabled a mod to my recent Red Arrows panel by replacing Gauge29 with the following:gauge29=737-400!ADF, 56,678,190,70//gauge29=CONCORDE!Radio-Adf, 56,678,190,70That plonks the FS2002 737 ADF into the panel very nicely, giving half increments. The only obvious change otherwise is that the readout is in green, rather than the olde Concorde redde, but at least now one can find one's way about! I shan't be posting this as an official 'fix' (not yet, anyway) as no one seems to care, but that's how to do it, in any case.Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumonthttp://www.swiremariners.com/cxkaitak.htmlhttp://www.swiremariners.com/reds.htmlhttp://www.swiremariners.com/cxkaitakv3.jpg
