Greetings,Yea, just downloaded the latest one (with the flightplan import function). It's still got the time anomoly, and I think I noticed something else - manually entering weather info on that button gets magnetic variation correction, but the automatically downloaded weather from the dep/arr page doesn't appear to have the correction applied?Happy New Year everyone BTW.P

Can someone confirm this is for the PIC Model/Airfile please?I dont wanna go using it with POSKY and then stuffing everything up ;-)Henry :-wave

http://www.aitraffic.net/henry/jpsigv3.jpg30 DEC AI Statistics: 22,929 Airports | 321 Aircraft | 6103 FlightPlans | Total of 138,440 flights:-wave :D :-wave NO DEFAULT AIRCRAFT OR FLIGHTPLANS USED :-wave :D :-wave:D Flightplans.txt size: 5.19mb :D

Hello Henry,Never realy thought about it much, but IMHO it should work well on both. TO and landing cards are based on POSKY model if I remember right, however V speeds were calculated by Wagner so I can't be sure.As for fuel consumption - shouldn't be a problem. If you see a consistent and big difference, you can use the tweak in "general settings" page. For Harry and Rottnest - I am trying to think of something, hope we can work it out. No good news for now...Last, for all the guys asking about the final release - I am waiting for more bug reports, suggestions and feedback from the "beta test team" - i.e. yourselves. besides, I am waiting for an OK from Wagner for the real release. Meanwhile I am trying to write a detailed manual, and even thinking of making a 737 and 747 versions for the less-elite sim pilots (heh heh heh).Looking forward to hearing more,Ilan

Ilan,As was pointed out earlier, there is a problem with the calculation of the arrival time. As it currently stands, arrival time is shown as of the Departing airport. For example, if I input a departure from KJFK for 12 noon (17:00 Zulu); with an approx. flight time of 4 hours 45 minutes I should arrive at KLAX at 1:45 p.m. or 21:45 Zulu. Instead, the spreadsheet is showing my arrival time as 16:45 and 21:45 Zulu; which would be the time at KJFK but not at KLAX. Is it possible to have that corrected? Also, as a suggestion wouldn't it be easier to the entry boxes for the departure and arrival airports on the General page and then link them to their respective pages? It would be nice to have all the general data entry done on one page.Regards.

Greetings,Am I imagining that field magnetic variation isn't taken into account when displaying winds on the dep apt/arr apt pages, but is taken into account on the manual wx entry page?Thnks!P

Oh thanks workingstiff, forgot about dep/arr times. I will fix that one, no problem.I'll consider with Wagner the other suggestion as well, Thanks.Peter - Mag Var is taken in acount when filling WX manually, yes. When WX is autofilled, it includes the mag var, i.e. headings are already magnetic (the name of the cell changes accordingly BTW). I will make it calculate TRUE dir when WX is autofilled, just forgot to do so before the beta release.I would like to hear more about ETOPS and ETP: any suggestions? I am not an expert in this issue, so good ideas are most welcome!Bye,Ilan

Hi Ilan,Thanks for continuing to do a great job tweaking the Dispatch spreadsheet. I really like using it and think it is quite user friendly once you figure out all it can do.A couple things. One is the Fuel Burn Log on the Dispatch Release. The overall burn figures for me come out pretty close, but the TC and TD figures are way out. I consistently burn 5-6000 lbs more in the climb, and the TD figure is far to large. Also, I don't quite understand the ENR RSV. Just doing a jaunt across the pond between CYYZ and LPPT (Lisbon) with the Enroute Alternate as LPAZ. The Time seems to be right at around 1:53 but the fuel is listed as 1800 lbs, far too small. Two hours of fuel would compute well as the ETOPS reserves I think.Would love to see LDR and TODR required in feet when lbs is selected :) Hope this helps,Ben

Hi Ben,Helps a lot! thanks for the important info, I'll check it all soon enough.Ilan

Hello, Ilan.A more precise calculation of ETP's points will need to know the average aloft wind direction and velocity for the entire route, or at least for the relevant points (i.e., before and after the ETP with zero wind). As far I knows, the winds and velocity can obtained from the winds and temperature weather charts that everybody can find at the NOAA page, or with FsMeteo, that shows the wind velocity and direction for each point of the imported flightplan (in Fs2002 format). With these data, the ETP's points will shift on one way or the other. I show to you some graphics that can help to undertand this:Also, you have here a copy of a sample ETOPS flight plan, that shows the items related with this kind of flight: fuel to alternates, CP (critical point, the point at which we star to use the other ETOPS alternate) and related data.As you see, the use of two ETOPS alternates is very common, and the sheet would reflet this.If you have questions about these, please write to me.Regards,Jose M. BarruezoSpainhttp://personal.telefonica.terra.es/web/as...ot/logosoc4.jpg

Hi Jose,Thanks alot forthe info! I knew most of it, and part of the diagrams as well (the flightplan is helpful though :-) ).Wind calculation is already included in ETP, though currently you can specify only average wind data. Do you guys think it will be usefull to add an option to fill wind data over various locations?I am planing to add another ENR ALT, it is not easy though...Pretty sure final version will feature a more complex ETOPS functions.Again, thanks for responding and if you have more ideas tell me about'em!Bye,Ilan

Hi, Ilan.I'm very happy with your's words.I have only two request: the ability to import also Fs2002 foramted flight plans (if the people agrees with a more sophisticated wind calculations, the easy way is to use FsMeteo, and this program only import *.pln formats). The second is a mere cosmetic, because you already has an ETOPS flight plan example ;) .... can you make a second FP output for this kind of flights?...Regards,Jose M. BarruezoSpainhttp://personal.telefonica.terra.es/web/as...ot/logosoc4.jpg

Or perhaps pull the winds aloft data and auto-fill for the points on the plan similar to FS_Meteo's planning function?Or, maybe a text import of meteo's planning output including winds and direction? Either method will allow auto-fill of the average wind direction/velocity as well with a basic sum formula....P

Ilan:Another problem. The autofill WX appears not to be working. The weather that is autofilling is from your original flight plan. The weather is always the same regardless of my departure and destination points. Also, the ATIS boxes in the takeoff and arrival cards always say "LLBG" and "EHAM" even though I have changed the departure and destination and even though I have erased the entire flight plan page!!Damon

Damon -Two possible reasons:1. Dep and Arr airport are not being imported with the flightplan - you always have to fill it manually BEFORE importing.2. You have to enable internet query - in cas you disabled it before. should be somewhere in the "data" menu of Excel.tell me if it worked for you.Jose -I like the flightplan format you attached. is it a real world one? I based mine on some real world formats (I am a real world ATC, so I used some of the one I get), but I can change it as long as it is still realistic.Peter - I will look into importing .PLN files, it might be possible. However I don't have FSMeteo, so it is a problem for me to import its wind aloft data. It would be great however, so if anyone can post/send an fsmeteo formatted plan, I'll gladly look into it too.Ilan
