Hummmm. I might understand if it was someone else you were talking about but Pete Dowson? " Ever since the developers were very rude and refused to add programming facilities for external hardware I de-installed the panel altogether. I only re-installed it the once to hack into their 1.3 modifications to provide better A/P control. "...Pete Dowson Looks like he was trying to work with you guys and I don't know if this meant that he needed to know some code etc which I agree is your right not to release but just what is behind him saying that you were rude etc I don't know. Could you clarify this for us Wade? Best Wishes, Randy J. Wade,???????Didn't know the WELP team was rude. Neither is Peter Dowson. What's up?This brings me to another point: I'm building a semi cockpit around PIC767 as flightsim (see picture of the pedestal in a halfway state). I really would like to be able to read the variables of the PIC767 (state of the switches etc). I have two keyboard encoders to operate switches, but now I want to step up another one: reading the state of switches and lights.I do know of a few other people working on the same thing and it would really be a great plus to the sim.Can you make a statement on this Wade?Kind regards,Stephan Haashttp://vatsim.pilotmedia.fi/statusindicato...or=SVA1&a=a.jpg

Randy,I've corresponded with THE Pete Dowson a lot, regarding different little problems of PIC (A/P, reversers etc.), and I can confirm that mr. Dowson doesn't think too highly about PIC developers. He said to me, that the developers didn't care to work much with him, to make PIC767 autopilot interface, for example, more accessable... or something like that... :(regardsTeroOn the other hand, I've tried to contact Wade numerous times, about an MCP problem (self-made), and I needed some advise. He has never contacted me back...

Stephen, reading between the lines:Pete is hacked off that all of the PIC internal command structures remain hidden, and that WELP have offered no encouragement in his attempts to make them more accessible to either cockpit builders or other developers (a consequence of being able to access the command structures and code).I believe that WELP have every right to protect the coding, command structures and logic behind the most advanced/realistic FS airliner add on ever produced.Mark

Mark,Yep, that's what I think too. But I was hoping of a solution in which WELP would make the variables available, without disclosing the secrets behind the code. If I was in their place, I wouldn't reveal the code either.(Our former Queen is believed to have said: "if I wasn't queen, I would be republican too")Personally I like the PIC767 very much and I'll continue building my cockpit around the 767, but it's a pity that I can't make more of it. In the mean time, I stil will have my fun hours with it!Kind regards,Stephan Haashttp://vatsim.pilotmedia.fi/statusindicato...or=SVA1&a=a.jpg

Don't worry Stephan, the next version will have full access to internal variables. We've already done that for some products and it will be available to all in our next product.Wade

Wade,"next version" ??!!Next version of what ?? Is there going to be a new version of PIC767 ?? OMG... Just fantasizing...Tero

Wade,Am I dreaming, am I hallucinating? What did I read?:-jumpy :-jumpy :-jumpy :-jumpy :-jumpyIf this means that somewhere down the line (no, I won't ask for release dates, we know where that will lead to, not to mention illegal downloads of patches) we'll have an updated version of PIC767: wow! That would really be the best news this year (flightsim wise)Kind regards,Stephan Haashttp://vatsim.pilotmedia.fi/statusindicato...or=SVA1&a=a.jpg

Is this for real??!!! Variables available for cockpit devlopers?? New version of PIC?? PLEASE!!! I love so much this software and want to make it work in a cockpit I know it can be done this is amazing PLEASE KEEP US UPDATED.Take care.Roberto

Ahhh, the carrot dangles.

Mike, more like a giant game of pass the parcel - with only the first layer removed and many hundreds to go to get to the final goal.Mark

in two words and too many letters:oooooooooooooohhhhhhh mamaaaa!!!!!!!!

If there is I know for a fact that I, for one, can wait until well after MSFS:COF is released for it to be published ;)

I hope you still have that list of beta testers, Wade. I'm watching for news. :-beerchug
