May 30, 200323 yr I just bought the Ariane TCAS this morning and when I installed it I see the gauge but nothing else. I have the gauge set up under my Wilco Pub/panel folder. The gauge is there and you can click on the range and it changes and the voice works when you click for the checks. My problem is there is nothing showing on the gauge and the engines are running and everything else is working on the panel. I uploaded a jpeg of this problem so you could see.I hope someone has a idea of whats going on? JeffG
May 30, 200323 yr Jeff, Can't figure that one out...I've installed it using the installation program by Ariane, and it works fine. I did use FS panel studio to tweak the size a bit. The color doesn't match particularly well with the PIC boeing panel but I've tested it in AI traffic and all of the functions work correctly. My only thought would be a reinstall. regards,
May 30, 200323 yr Also, Check this threat on this issue of a few days back...appears there may need to be some tweaks on non XP systems to run this guage correctly. And you also want to check FSUIPC settings for Traffic..http://forums.avsim.com/dcboard.php?az=sho...id=16716&page=2
May 30, 200323 yr Chris, Thanks alot that thread helped,I am running windows xp home.I downloaded the gdiplus.dll and placed it in my main FS2002 dir and now the gauge shows up. Thanks Again Jeffg
May 30, 200323 yr Hi,The gauge bitmaps can be edited to match the PIC panel quite well if one desires to do so. You need a program called gaubmp2.zip and is available from simviation.com.Regards,Van LatendresseYeoDesigns/AFG Group
May 31, 200323 yr Thanks for that Van. I got it and it worked well. I also have FS panel studio and after some fumbling, got that to do it too. It's hard to match the color perfectly, but it ain't bad. I also renamed the ariane tcas guage with the new bitmap (new copy) in my guage folder so that the original guage would continue to show up in their 733 and other planes. Playing with guage and panel design has given me much more respect for the people who do this for a living...regards,
May 31, 200323 yr "Playing with guage and panel design has given me much more respect for the people who do this for a living...regards"LOL, except when your plane doesn't have TCAS!! Good old fashioned Mark I eyeballs for us.Lobaeux
May 31, 200323 yr The best way to get the gauge color to match perfectly is to copy a color segment from either a main panel bitmap or an existing gauge that was created for the specific panel and by doing so you will get the desired effect you want. See the attached pics of the 737-200 panel I created and also a pic of Dreamfleets 734 panel you will see what I mean, the gauge color matches the panels perfectly (and they are both slightly different colors). I also use this gauge color on my PIC panel because Rockwell Collins only has their IVSI/TCAS display available in black or blue/gray and I've seen the blue/gray color scheme used on many 767 flight decks.Regards,Van LatendresseYeoDesigns/AFG Group
