Does the FS2002 generated AI work well (or at all) when using one of the more complex addon airport sceneries? Thanks,Rob

Yes, but the aircraft may land, taxi, park on the grass, in the terminal, etc, if the new scenery uses different reference points than the default. To correct this, use AFCAD and modify the airport structure for the above.

I hope the new Wilco product corrects for this. Man! I don't want this to be a complicated issue. What is AFCAD and where can we get it and is it difficult to use? Thanks,Rob

You can get it right here (search for author Swordy), it is quite easy to use, and it comes with a very complete manual.Hope this helps,-- Tom GibsonCalifornia Classic Propliners: http://www.calclassic.com/Cal Classic Alco Page: http://www.calclassic.com/alco/Freeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.com/ San Diego Model RR Museum: http://www.sdmodelrailroadm.com/Drop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___

I know that when you change weather conditions that the active runways change like they naturally would at certain airports. Does this mean that you have to go in the program and change the settings each time, or is this a simple thing that you only have to do once? Thanks a lot of the links!Robbie

In the above post, I am talking about with the AFCAD program.

Generally FS ATC will only use one runway at an airport - the longest one (unless you get fancy with AFCAD and get it to use more). Which end of this runway gets used will depend on wind direction. This is automatic. If you want ATC to use a different runway (or one runway for landing and one for takeoff) it's pretty easy in AFCAD - just double click on the longest runway, set each end as you like it, etc. For example, if you want the longest runway (currently used by ATC for all traffic) to only be used for takeoffs, double click on that runway, and click Closed for Landings at each end. Then open up the next longest runway and click Closed for Takeoffs at each end - it will now be used for all landings. If you want a shorter runway used for landings instead, click on both Closed for Takeoffs and Closed for Landings at each end instead. Then double click on the next shorter runway and click on Closed for Takeoffs at each end.You can combine these techniques to set whatever runway you like for takeoffs and landings. Just remember ATC will use the longer runways unless you close them. Which end of these runways will be used will depend on wind direction, which again is automatic.BTW, if there is an ILS at only one end of a runway, it will be used until the adverse wind gets above about 10 kts, at which time ATC will switch ends. You can get a lot of help over at the AVSIM TTools forum too.Hope this helps,-- Tom GibsonCalifornia Classic Propliners: http://www.calclassic.com/Cal Classic Alco Page: http://www.calclassic.com/alco/Freeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.com/ San Diego Model RR Museum: http://www.sdmodelrailroadm.com/Drop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___
