Hi, I know it has no function in PIC but what is that blank screen on top of the pedestal? Is that the weather radar, or tcas gauge? If it is a weather radar screen is there any way to implement one in that spot on the panel? Thank You. :-wave

I'm pretty sure its a TCAS gauge, several carriers have TCAS in that spot on their planes, but it could double as wx radar, not sure.Ryan

Its the weather radar. Weather radar is also displayed on both HSI's. On newer aircraft (and probably a carrier option) there is no separate weather radar display, you just get the ones on the HSI. TCAS can be displayed on the HSI, or IVSI screens, never seen it appear on the weather radar screen.

"Is that the weather radar, or tcas gauge?"There doesn't seem to be a set rule for which panels go where, November. On our 767's, the Radar is currently in that spot, but it doesn't mean it can't/won't change.http://members.ozemail.com.au/~b744er/767/767Pedestal.JPGA realistic radar system would be very difficult to implement. Would you need a functioning radar control panel or would you be happy with just a bitmap image of one stuck on your pedestal? If I took a shot of one, I'm sure the graphics guru's here could put a non-functioning one into PIC in a matter of a week or so if they really wanted to :-)Cheers.Ian.

"Nice picture Ian, here`s something similar."Cute.... But looks like I'll have to pay more attention to my ACARS weather reports now that I haven't a Radar display ;-)Cheers.Ian.
