Thanks Mike, Ilan and all the ATC-hounds who unleashed us into and out of the African skies.Unfortunately I had a terminal meltdown on final to runway 26 - five hours and no landing... grrr. Hey, them's the breaks when you fly online. Thanks again one and all.DS CVA3339 / UKD149System: Attlon 900 McW Hamster/Gerbilized Quantum Accessible 55Gig Iodized-Encrusted Four-poster with Mega-brill Farzenhuuven http://vatsim.pilotmedia.fi/statusindicato...tor=OD1&a=a.jpg

Mike. Another great event. Thanks for the careful organization. To all the ATC along the way, thanks for the control and the patience during the "informal" chat that occupied the airwaves from time to time.Ilan and the VATIL crew, great job...(I feel your pain :-))!The fastest 5 hours on a Saturday.Roberto

I had the good fortune of taking part in this one from both sides of the scope.Nairobi was an absolute blast. Here is a list of the callsigns that I gave clearance to:UPS1119AAL174HLN601 (CALLSIGN ORANGE)UPS1102ACA332AAL327DAL963SAS544LAB2201 (SOMETHING WEIRD WITH POOR ROBERTO'S FLIGHTPLAN)ELY133UKD121CVA3339LOT337KLM55VIT004 (CALLSIGN VATITA)COA300 (ONLY TEXT DEPARTURE)AEA6762 (CALLSIGN EUROPA)UKD171After UKD171 was handed off to the tower (who also did a great job) I closed up and called for clearance out of Addis Ababba, Ethiopia (HAAB) which was a fun takeoff roll at 7400' MSL.We joined up with the group near the Khartoum VOR and enjoyed the view and "kibbutzed" with everyone until we hit Israeli skies over Eilat. Ilan was all business at that point - lots of traffic on the frequency and lots of instructions for everyone. The poor approach guy had a lot of traffic on his frequency but continued to bark out the commands to everyone involved. I managed to get lined up nicely for a sweet visual into runway 26 with SAS544 right behind me just as the sun was setting (I set my clock back 4 hours for the trip). The ATC was great all the way along - I somehow managed to skip Phil on Nairobi tower, Ernie on Nairobi departure, and "Woj" on Center. ATC the whole way - I didn't catch everyone who controlled aircraft along the way - but my thanks goes out to everyone from Addis Ababba center all the way to Ben Gurion Ground. Friendly and competent the entire way - thanks a lot.Big thanks to Mike for putting together the event - you wouldn't believe some of the logistics that go into this sort of thing.Looking forward to the bball event.p.s. - I took over 100 screenshots during the event but somehow they managed to get all F***ED up. sigh....

I had a great time today and want to acknowledge the people who made this event possible. The turnout was a little greater than I expected so thanks also to those of you that participated in the cockpit today. In order of contact during the flight:[ol][li]Ian Elchitz was our Ground/Delivery controller.[/li][li]Phillip Elchitz (Ian

I'll add -13. Ittai Arnon - yesterday's standby controller - opened up LLOV tower for some diversions (did you guys notice we diverted some people to LLOV? it was crowded over LLBG...)14. Amir Paz showed up briefly as LLBG TMA control, to handle some local traffic to Eilat. We had a great team yesterday, and I salute both ATC and all pilots. There were many problems in ATC and I appologize for any inconvenience - we are debriefing and I'll let you guys know what really happened behind the scopes...Thank you all for showing up, was a real pleasure for all of us!Ilan

as i blurted out on the atc freq already: man those guys have a beautiful country, and to add:it sure was great fun to fly a domestic run with u guys, thanks a lot guys,i had a real good time following all the chatter....was kind of shocked when i saw 8 767's pass over me though :-lolthanks again, next time i hope to fly all the way ;-)

I missed this great event and this makes it the second time.My PC has passed away and the service guys said that the motherboard needs a replacement. Hopefully it will be ready by this weekend so I can make it for the SPEEDBIRD flyin on sunday and AMSTERDAM flyin on Saturday. All I could do is to go to a friends place and see the traffic approaching LLBG.Thanks Mike, Ilan, Kyprianos and the other guys for the event and please do not forget to arrange a new one soon.Hope to be thereGurhanFly THY VA capt. and flgt inst.VATSIM -Eur, Stu Controller
