PIC/POSKY 762 merge, what ZFW do i enter?

Featured Replies

Hello,I have the PIC/POSKY merge with my El Al 767-200.Now it is all setup, do I just look at what the empty weight is in the aircraft.cfg and enter that as the ZFW in the FMC, or do I need to make one up, like people are doing with the IFDG 757.As it is smaller than the 300, I thought maybe, just entering the real empty weight that's in the cfg wouldn't be enough.Would it?Thanks.Alex.

Hi boyoIt wouldn't really matter what you entered as a ZFW as the FMC would 'think' you are a 763 and all it's calculations made as a result are for a 763. I don't know much about the 200 series so can't comment on how much the figures will differ.:-)

What I did was, after executing the POSKY 762 merge, was go into the aircraft cfg of the 762 and lower the 'empty weight' from by 22000lbs, which is a rough estimate of the difference in the ZFW's of the -300ER and -200ER series. So the 'empty_weight' (which is actually the same as the ZFW in PIC's case) in the cfg went from 245200 lbs to 223200 lbs. Then I just inputted the new ZFW into the FMC when I flew the -200. I can't comment on how accurate the numbers calculated by the FMC are for the -200 at that weight, but they're good enough for me.Ryan

Thanks Ryan and Tom.I will edit the empty weight and see how I get along.Alex.

HEY AGAIN.I can't get the merge by Lee Etherington to work now.I click the setup.bat and it says aircraft is not a valid folder of fs2002 or something similar.:(Alex.
