AI aircraft engines sounds far away

Recommended Posts

Guest Joshieca

I got to thinking about this the other day...yeah I know thinking is bad for me....but when you're at an airport, either on board a plane or sitting outside, you hear the landing aircraft's reverse thrust and take off aircraft's engines quite loudly. For some distance down the runway and while they rotate and leave the ground too. But on FS2K2 you have to be within a few meters to hear the sounds that the AI aircraft make. Is there anyway of extending this sound? So that the roar of an old 727 (or any other aircraft) can be hear for some distance away.[div align=center][link:members.cox.net/fstimes/wetimage.html]Click Here For Weather Image of the Day!

I don't know! And if I may add to the question...... I have a few of the CFS2 Warbirds flying around in 2K2. As AI, the big burly sound of the P&W R2800 in the F4U and F6F is missing. In its place, as they taxi by, is the small sound of the Cessna or Piper default aircraft.Trying to figure out how to replace that with the default R2800 sound. Maybe the answer is a sound file from CFS2. But I don't know what those sounds are called.Anybody care to add anything?ThanksRick

I'm using FS2002 louder crash and AI aircraft sounds by leon "pancreas" Medadodescription : Pretty self-explanatory. Airports will sound more alive, and crashes will be a bit more dramatic. Created for every distortion-loving freak out there.file : lm_loudsnds.zip - you find it in the library

Thanks....but all that does is distort the sound files by making it louder.I guess it hasn't been done yet. Sure would be nice.

I'm confused - I thought louder is what you wanted? If you want different sound files for different phases of AI flight, then you'll have to wait for FS2004 (if then). AI aircraft always play the same wav file, over and over and over....-- Tom GibsonCalifornia Classic Propliners: http://www.calclassic.com/Cal Classic Alco Page: http://www.calclassic.com/alco/Freeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.com/ San Diego Model RR Museum: http://www.sdmodelrailroadm.com/Drop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___

Not necessarily louder, but be able to hear them from farther away. If your in the hold short position of a runway lineup...and a jet takes off ahead of you, you should be able to hear the sound of that jet almost all the way down the runway. In the sim currently you hear it for a little bit but once it gets more than a 40 or 50 meters from you the sound disappears.I guess i didn't make myself clear, I hope this helps.
