October 6, 200421 yr 245,000lbs / 111,000 kgs. Just wondering what this actually signify's. Is it simulating a load of pax? If so, what number? Just curious why this number was used.I'd actually like to see a load editor. Just makes it a bit more fun, and possibly realistic when you can actually load pax/freight. Perhaps something to consider? Jonno.
October 6, 200421 yr ZFW - Zero Fuel Weight is the weight of the aircraft without fuel loaded, this will include PAX and Payloads but no fuel. This weight info. among many other things becomes the basis of how much fuel you will need for the trip. There is a MAX ZFW limit on aircraft aswell which cannot be exceeded. You will also need to enter this value into the FMC while programmin your trip.there are a few loadeditors around for the PIC767 I think, try the PIC Flying Club site - http://www.pic767flyingclub.com/
October 6, 200421 yr Hi,I think this typical weight was chosen to represent a load that is quite current on the 767 for a major airline. I think this is a pretty full airplane. You can change it to simulate more or less pax/cargo. For that, you need to edit your plane cfg file and amend the line that says zero fuel weight.Make sure this weight matches the one you have on your fmc, otherwise your speed calculations will be all wrong,Regards,Francois
October 8, 200421 yr Commercial Member That weight was chosen because it is the maximum dry weight that will allow you to fill the fuel tanks without going over max allowable weight.Wade
