Aaaaaargh! Sodding MS FFB 2 joystick !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Recommended Posts

My new MS FFB2 stick works fine except that it fails to center (I posted here the other day and got some response but no info about how to fix this). The stick has a "Return-To-Center tension" setting that I set to HIGH, and it then tests fine in the Windows 98 window. But in FS2002, the return to center tension slacks off and generally there is no return to center in flight or on the ground. The FFB is also set to HIGH in the MS software and FFB is enabled in the sim too.Everything else on the stick works fine. Can anybody help me figure out a fix for this annoying problem? I appreciate any help, thanks!JS

I have the same problem with the FF1 but I found if I open the joystick calibration window from within FS2K2 and go through the properties and settings the centering forces suddenly kick in.

Noi need to worry, it is not supposed to center when you are playing FS.It has never done that as long as I've been playing with it.All the forces is defined in the aircraft.cfg, and anyways, don't get upset by this :)It's normal (i want to beleive) :DCheers man!---------Fredrik Wold

No, it's not normal. Most of the folks here with FFB sticks get the centering force to work..Tero

Hi,You cannot influence centering forces from within FS2K2.But, if you look in your Windows joystick calibration for your stick, there is an usually an option somewhere called "enable centering spring in ForceFeedback games", or like. Are you sure there is no such option in the joystick window for the MS FFB stick ??Rob

Yes and you have to disable the old FS2000 profile also, that worked for me. But flying with the joystick being centered, I looked to me that I was flying an Arcade game, Star wars or something, so I decided to enable the profile and flying with no centering response. I got to get used to my joystick until I have the money to Buy a CH Yoke, or until they feature Force feedback, Whicheveer comes First!!
