Cruising altitude Rules

Can someone please post the rules about cruising altitudes via east or west travel. I forget which is even and which is odd.

East- Odd up to Flight Level 290 then it is FL330, FL370, FL410, etc.West- Even up to FL280 then Fl310, 350, 390, etc. Hope this helps

When planning the flight, RVSM airspace has to be noticed too. And in France, altitudes go "horizontally", not like west and east like normally, but north and south.

In North American (as someone mentioned):FL290 and below its NORTH-EAST ODDSOUTH-WEST EVENor "NEODD SWEVEN"Above FL290 you need 2000' vertical separation so for NE travel you useFL330 FL370 FL410and for SW travel you useFL310 FL350 FL390Then in Europe and I believe now in Canada as well (and other places I am sure) they use RVSM (Reduced Vertical Separation Minimaa) so they just continue with the NEODD SWEVEN rule.That catch all is that certain routes in certain countries the rules all go out the window depending on the flights you are flying. When flying online from Frankfurt to Heathrow, I've been requested several times to change my cruise level from FL350 to FL340 or FL360.
