Squawkbox on 2nd computer?

I have not used VATSIM in a long time, since it didn't work with FS9 originally. Now I understand that it does but I've kind of forgotten how it all pieces together. Specifically, if I have 2nd and 3rd computers connected with WideFS, can I have them run some of these apps (SBrelay, SB, etc)? Has anyone put together a guide on doing this? ThanksDavid Lee

Hi,when I fly, I use my 2nd PC for SB. You will need SBRelay, SBHost and AVC (if you intend to use voice, so that SB can switch voice channels for you). Note that you can also use ServerInfo and its gauge to accomplish the same thing from within the simulator, but I think it requires FSUIPC and WideFS (not sure).The configuration works well, I had no problems, but it took me a little while to put all the pieces together, and it's important to start the software in the right order.I normally stay with FS connected to the SBRelay host all the time as even if the other software dies, your FS session will be spared.Good luck!

Hi David,I run FS9 on my main computer and sb/avc/sb relay/servinfo/activesky on my client. As stated above use build 4...there is no need for Hostsb or sbhost. You must also insert the WIDEFSVER=3 entry in your squawkbox.ini file (in the windows folder of your sb machine). See the build 4 readme for more information on this.Hope this helps.

Im also using 2 computer solution when flying online. I have SBRelay, AVC and AVC Tuner running on my powerPC and Squawkbox with Activesky and when needed, BAV ACARS, on other computer. I am actually using the latest build and have written nothing to the conf, works just like a dream :D. Before I had SBRelay too on the other one, but for some reason it kicked Squawkbox out from the session all the time and I had to do it with same PC where FS runs.
