FSW New Member and FSW Metar Product

Recommended Posts

Hi, We have a new member in our group, his name is Markus Brunner, We will have a new product called FSW Metar, Markus have good knowledge of the METAR system and meterological data, he was guy who made a similar program for Flight Unlimited series. The product is in beta now, some things to do and it will be released maybe after 2 weeks.1. Read METAR data from file2. Use TAF data3. Use Winds aloft (FD) data4. Option such as download interval,Clouds transition, sliders, setting etc...6. get the data from the internet7. use historical data8. All new clouds, high/mid level,cumulus,stratus,Cb,T-Storm, sun, moon, raindrop, realistic thunderstorm sound including in the weather system.9. Reads the METAR stations from file10. Read and decode most parts of the METAR files11. Transfer the data via FSUIPC in FS2k212.Get the next METAR station if the plane travels13 Pro Graphical InterfaceAnd more to be implemented and we will update the version also as freeware....If you have suggestion/wish for FSW Metar, you can send it to Markus email: in_04@web.deFs sky weather is still in developpement, but I don't have any idea for the release, for now you will able to have FSW Metar soon with all tons of the entire world wide clouds coverage never created to date in Msfs series. Also Fs sky world updated will be released as version 2.0 with all new clouds included also on an single installation easier for users. The files will be ultra compressed to a very small files easly to download since you will need near 150 mb of space.ThanksChris Willis[link:fsw.simflight.com/FSWMenuFsSim.html]Clouds And Addons For MsFshttp://fsw.simflight.com/fsw.jpg

Hi Chris,Will it update itself over the internet at timed interval like FS_Meteo?From the sounds of it though, perhaps those of us with FS_Meteo wont getting autoupdating clouds when using v2.0 clouds? Or is that perhaps an "assumed" feature of FS Sky Weather? Can't wait for Sky Weather & those v2 clouds packs either way. :-beerchug

Hi, "Will it update itself over the internet at timed interval like FS_Meteo?Yes, it is easy to do thats, metar updated and others stuff time interval also, you can chose from from 1 sec to etc.."perhaps those of us with FS_Meteo wont getting autoupdating clouds when using v2.0 clouds?"No It's our feature and works, All tons of Clouds will be in the weather and it will be inserts to the correct weather condition. you will have to use fs sky world 2.0 to randomize the clouds. It is not version 2.0 clouds pack, but Fs sky world 2.0 with all clouds included.ThanksChris Willis[link:fsw.simflight.com/FSWMenuFsSim.html]Clouds And Addons For MsFshttp://fsw.simflight.com/fsw.jpg

Chris,Sounds very good. I was very sceptical about your FS Sky Weather since it required a vast commitment of time/effort - something usually lacking in a freeware environment. It is better to start "smaller" and build your product incrementally upward.Michael J.

And we wont be able to enjoy your new clouds and all thier variety until Sky Weather?I use skyworld 1 now, and it randomly changes clouds based on time, but will both Sky Weather & your Metar program both changes clouds based on weather, or just sky weather?

Chris,Looks really interesting. I look forward to checking it out.One question... will it be able to share data with FSFlightMax? I know it has taken a while for them to get it working with FSMeteo.

Yes, it is easy to do thats, metar updated and others stuff time interval also, you can chose from from 1 sec to etc.. Just an FYI, Chris. METARS are generally updated once per hour. There are some exceptions to this, but the standard update is once per hour. So checking the METAR every second is not going to be very useful.

This the best site with Metar .I use this Metar with Program RWX51 old good Real Weather available for FS2002 Looks like Markus Brunner is creating program, which will let me, use this rich data from Navigation Canada.http://www.flightplanning.navcanada.ca/cgi...on&TypeDoc=htmlsampleRequest Generated 08/21/2002 at 03:09:55 UTC . First of all, Welcome to Markus !! :-)And it sounds like you have a great new program coming up for us Chris ! Looking through all the questions there is a lot of interest in it and in weather in general.Perhaps if this thread comes to an end, it would be a good idea to recap some of the answers on questions such as 'will it work with FSMeteo, previous versions of your clouds products, FSFlightMax' and such.Cordialement,Francois :-outta Francois :-wave

"At home in the wild"[link:avsim.com/alaska/alaska_051.htm|Don's Alaskan Bush Charters]"Beavers Lead the Way"[link:www.avsim.com/vfr_center/mainpages/vfr_flights_main_page.htm]VFR Flight Center]"Looking Good Outside"

http://avsim.com/hangar/air/bfu/logo70.gifhttp://www.fssupport.com/images/moose2.gif

________________________Francois A.
