Can anyone tell me what this switch does?

Hello all,I'm working on a 757 cockpit and I'm about to finish the throttle quadrant. Just to make sure my project is as close to the real thing as possible, can anyone identify this switch? To give due credit the picture is cropped from one of Andreas outstanding Boeing 767 cockpit dimension pictures. Thanks, Andreas!Scott

I believe it's a thumbpress to disengage/engage autothrottle... usually pilot would use it when it comes in emergency situation.

The switch is the Go-Around trigger switch, there being one on each thrust lever. It's triggered by the thumb, and has a spongy, momentary feel to it when pressed.Chris

yup...that's the one Chris.....there is a Go Around switch on each throttle....one for the F/O and one for the Captain...(left and right hands!)The autothrottle soft disconnect switch is the little black switch further up the throttle in the round top. One click disconnects the throttle, the second click silences the aural caution and resets the EICAS message.

Thanks for your assistance. Just to make sure I fully understand, this switch is only used for a Go Around. (It increases the throttles to Go Around thrust) However, it is not used for Take Off thrust. The 757 / 767 does not have a TO/GA switch like the MD-80 series aircraft. The REAL procedure for Take Off is to manually move the throttles to 70% N1, let the engine stabilize then press N1 on the AFDS. At this point the throttles will advance to the maximum allowed N1 power setting
