Recommended Posts

Hello All, Has anyone actually built the Hagstrom Rotary Encoder Circuit? with their parts. I recived mine awhile back, finally had time to check them today...and the supplied diagram shows 22 pin-outs on "rotary IC"(each side) but it appears to have only 20 (each side)...Im no electronics expert by any means but do have some basic knowledge...I am an electrician by trade....any help would be greatly appreciated!! Also, been away from Forum for awhile, its great to see so much participation.ScottN

Hi Scott,I made the first one. It works great. There are 40 pin outs on the rotary. If you look precisly at the diagram you see pin 40 above left. The diagram shows you were the pin-outs go not from where the coming out. RegardsRoger

I too recently purchased this encoder package from Hagstrom and was wondering where you picked up the 5v power. Did you use a separate power supply or did you pick up the power from the keyboard encoder? I made a console like the GO-Flight one and placed the KE72 encoder inside of it, so if I could tap into the power I thought it might be the way to go. Unfortunately I don't know how to do this or if it is even possible. Also did you use the Panasonic encoders EVE-GA or the EVQ-VEMF series? I thought I read that you needed the EVE-GA encoder but then how would you mount it to your panel? Thanks for any advice. I hate to screw this up.Rich

Roger, Thanks for the info. I'll be trying the same soon. I was just concerned about using the power from the keyboard. I'm glad to hear you've had success. This will make it a lot easier.Rich
