Showing off a bit...

Recommended Posts

Hello, all~It's been awhile since anyone has seen my progress on the 777. Here's the latest sampling.I'm using FDS (WWW.FlightDeckSolutions.Com) MIPs panels, FDS Throttle housing and a rather incomplete throttle assembly (only 1 throttle lever so far)(Cut and paste into your browser)http://12.228.183.216/Sim1.jpghttp://12.228.183.216/Sim2.jpghttp://12.228.183.216/Sim3.jpghttp://12.228.183.216/Sim4.jpghttp://12.228.183.216/Sim5.jpg

The first 777 builder returns! Now I can get the history straight.. lol!Do you need a 777 EICAS selector panel? I've got a beautiful one here from FDS's ELITE series that I don't need (includes buttons). I have a 777 MCP just like yours and they match up very well. Only problem is, the buttons are flush mounted instead of being raise 1/16" like the real plane. Just being VERY picky here, but let me know if you're interested.Robert

Very very nice...I was wondering how did you get the projected image so large? How far back is your LCD? Mine is about 9.5 Feet (against a wall) and now I'm stuck at this image of only half a windscreen...please see below.

Ray,Flightdeck looks great. I'm just beginning my 777.What kind of Projector are you using for your front visuals? I'm looking for a good one that I can mount not too far from where I sit above my head, and one that's fairly inexpensive. I've seen them range from $1100 all the way up to 5 or 6 grand. If you can tell me the specs on what to look for that works best for simming, I would greatly appreciate it!Russ Tyndall:-newbie

I purchased a Panasonic model (I'll have to get the specifics tonight, as I am at werk) but it uses a short-throw lens to project an image that is 84" across and the projector is only 6 feet away from the wall.1200 Lumens, XGA, Auto-keystone correction, inputs for damn near everything, and even includes a speaker, so when I'm not flying I can watch "Aliens 3: Resurrection"Best money I ever spent for a display system.

Ray,It looks great... I am just starting on a 777 build, and I've just received my MIP, Pedestal, Throttle and Glare kits from FDS. I have a couple of questions...1. What have you used for the MCP displays... the blue LED color looks great. Do you have a part number or something... and I assume that you're connecting them up using EPIC?2. What software are you running on the EICAS screen? It looks to have a more complete set of info on it than Project Magenta.Hopefully in a few months I may be able to post a similar picture...CheersSimon.

hehe... OOPS!No one was supposed to see those gauges yet! They are a home-brew solution that are currently a work-in-progress and not (yet) for public consumption:-)
