>>PeterK> Tuomas...Are you going to put doors on and the glass in or>just run the CRT and Magnifing lense on the dash???For my home sim I am going frensnel probably, not that far yet.For the C150 thingy at the aviation club we got a collimated mirror display segment from Finnair as a donation (they sold their old DC-10 simulator but the buyer didnt want the display setup. So they donated those for general aviation clubs for simulator project use)The mirror setup actually was the reason that kicked the whole project rolling and made it reality. Needless to say it gives an insane view, photos cannot really give it much justice, but here's one more. My first message has some examples too.http://tigert.gimp.org/vatsim/cockpit-stuff/mik-visuaali.jpgIn reality it gives a very 3D feeling that does not really show on photos at all. It has an old 27" monitor there which has seen better times, so the image is a bit dark, but it's got to do for now.Tuomas

PeterK Im at the point where in the Mooney looking through the windshield at a 21 inch monitor..It works but A Frensnellense mounted in front would expand the view.. Your shots of the flying clubs sim with the large monitorlook great..Is it mirrored from the bottom ??Or is it a 27inch screenin a 1to 1 ratio basically looking at a mirrored imagewhich I assume is reversed in the monitor..Basically a VGAmonitor does not have a reverse switch say like the ones in aTV station that run the script prompter into a reflected glassover the camera lense...seems like a great approach..but for my aplication it wouldgobble up more space...and thats my problem space and im running out.. Tuomas ,,,are you going with a GA pit at home using an airplanecarcass or a plywood job...peteHttp://home.comcast.net/~fs-boneyard:-wedge

Mike's site is great btw :-)> Tuomas ,,,are you going with a GA pit at home using an>airplane>carcass or a plywood job...Plywood. Something like this, sorry for the crappy webcam pic.http://tigert.gimp.org/vatsim/cockpit-stuf...topconsole9.jpghttp://tigert.gimp.org/vatsim/cockpit-stuff/simpit2.jpegIt'll get a fresnel at some point, but there's a lot to be done before that. Working on it slowly as time permits..Basically it's a box that houses a monitor. Going with a LCD screen thouhg since the CRT roundness is a problem, works great though but looks a bit ugly.http://tigert.gimp.org/vatsim/cockpit-stuf...topconsole3.jpgFSBUS for electronics etc.Tuomas

PeterKthanks Tuomas...That explains it more...Somthing else that dawns on me is that its a custom made panelwith a cover over the CRT...Great!Pete:-wedge

>PeterK>thanks Tuomas...That explains it more...>Somthing else that dawns on me is that its a custom made>panel>with a cover over the CRT...Great!Yep. Works very well. There are knobs on the relevant gauges so I can turn the knob on the altimeter to set QNH, and rotate the VOR dial with the knob next to the VOR gauge.. The only problem is that now that the thing is under "mainteinance" and not flyable at the moment, I find it absolutely annoying trying to fly on FS with the mouse and the usual FS panels.. Gah. be warned about that :)Tuomas
