Is it possible to test FSBUS COM by itself ?

Recommended Posts

Guest luckas

Hello all,I've just finished making an FSBUS COM. Everything went well (PCB etching, component soldering etc. etc.) and have just finished the com interface wiring.Apologies for the slightly dumb question, but is it possible to in fact check that the FSBUS COM module actually works without having built any other modules ? I.e, can one plug it in and using router software actually check anything ?Thanks,Paul

You can test voltages. There should be 5 volts on bus-connectors. Also when in program mode there should be 13.5 volts. And it should drop to zero when using fsbus software test mode. Finally same affects Data and Clock signals. In FSbus software test mode there is picture of PIC. Without PIC this picture is useless. But look schematics and locate Data, Clock and MCLR lines. This is all what you can check.- J
