Adding tension to throttles

HOw can I add tension to my throttles using regular nuts and washers? I read about self locking ones in another tread. What do these look like and are they necessary? Thanks, Mike Catalfamo

Yea, that or use car / washing machine / motorbike shock absorbers like on the first picture - it is definitely a better approach and does not need constant tightening when in use. Someone said the VW Beetle (old model) had a absorber in the steering system that apparently is "just right" for a MD-80 throttle :) Or a motorbike / whatever small suspension might work just as well. The self-made approach in the first pic likely works great too, stuff some vaseline inside so it gives a smooth constant feel. Or just get a "real" absorber. The length of the link arm will have an effect the resistance force of course. :)//Tuomas

Thanks for all the great ideas guys but...My dad made a deal with me that he would buy me the Simavionics throttle quadrent if I do something. :) That would be much nicer than any homebuild one and it is a 767 one, just the kind I need!
