Center Mount Fighter Control Stick

Recommended Posts

I have been threatening to post pictures of the center mounted control stick I am working on for my T-38 sim. Well, as promised, here they are. This is a prototype version of the stick. I am using it to work out the springing and trim. I have used it in MSFS and it works well. The handle is from a Suncom F-15 stick. All of the buttons have been rewired through one of Leo Lavaca

Nicely done, John!Does the white cylinder provide damping for pitch movement? Also, where did you source your gears?Mikewww.mikesflightdeck.com

Thanks Mike,Yes, the white cylinder is my home made dampener and artificial tactile sensitivity control assembly. In other words it is two compression springs with a piston in the middle connected to the control lever. While it works fairly well, I am still not perfectly happy with it. I originally calculated that I needed a spring

Possibly eccentric cams or pulleys in your cable system?

That is a good idea. Doesn't one of the body-building companies use that for their equipment?John
